Cross Roads,
as in "Dancing at the Cross Roads Youth Gathering." This mega-event in the year 2000 will bring to Saint Louis thousands of young Christians, more than Pope John Paul II did last week. -
O is for Old,
which is what Nicodemus was. "How," he asked, "can anyone be born after having grown old?" (John 3:1-21, Gospel for Second Sunday in Lent.) Here is a "programming" of that text for the Old Nic in us all. As you ponder it, pause at key points and try the following Refrain on yourselves. -

Nowadays when you're asked to preach on something which Jesus said, your first worry might be, Did the historical Jesus really say this? Or if maybe he did, is "maybe" certain enough? -

In the month of August 1998, I was blessed with an opportunity to visit Australia where Crossings is also clearly alive and well. I was invited to give about twenty presentations and workshops in the twenty days I was there, so it was not, as they say, a "holiday."
